WHAT IS A TRANSFER STATION?
How does the Transfer Station operate?
Inbound Delivery
Upon arrival vehicles first proceed to the scale house where they pass through radiation monitoring equipment onto the scales and are weighed by the weigh master. All vehicles then proceed to the large Transfer building where drivers are directed to one of 3 unloading positions to deposit the waste on the concrete floor in the designated areas. Our equipment operator will help with the unloading process to those who need it.
Outbound
After unloading, customers return to the scales to weigh out and pay for there transaction by cash, check or credit card.
Consolidation
Breezewood Transfers staff operates equipment to push the waste from the tipping floor down through an opening into top-loading transfer trailers parked in a loading tunnel beneath. The loading tunnel has a floor flush mounted scale where each transfer trailer is positioned for loading.
